Career Experience

Prior to entering law school Denise worked in the legal field for 10 years, largely in the area of commercial real estate law.

As an associate of the law firm of Papazian Heisey, Myers, Denise’s experience in commercial real estate and business law involves complete carriage of files in commercial acquisitions, dispositions, financings and leasing.

• Real estate projects include industrial complexes, retail plazas, commercial office buildings, and development lands
• Recent transactions included acting for religious organization in the sale of lands, $15 million sale of industrial lands, $95 million financing project, government sale of lands, and acquisition of railway lands
• Small business acquisitions and dispositions of retail businesses
• Franchising projects include acting for large national and small retail franchisors, including preparation of disclosure documents, preparation and negotiation of franchise agreements and leases
• Residential practice includes acting for individuals in the purchase (including mortgages) and sale of houses and condominiums
• Clients include individuals, small local businesses to large international corporations, government agencies, condominium developers and institutional and private lenders

As a former law clerk, Denise has a unique knowledge of real estate, and is an instructor for the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario, teaching the real estate section.
